Why you should steer clear of Scientology!

In this post I will be covering the origin and beliefs of a well known religion in the USA called Scientology, as well as including my remarks on what I think about this zany religion.

Scientology was founded in 1954 by (I'm not making this up) a formal Sci-fi writer named Ron L. Hubbard in California. There is a belief in a god, but this religion offers do details or doctrine about him.

Adherents to this religion refer to the soul as a thetan, and believe that it is possible for the thetan to both leave the body and yest still control the body. This process is known as exterialization. Those that are said to be able to do this are known as Operating Thetans. Scientology's teaching of the afterlife leans more to the belief in reincarnation rather than to the place of heaven or hell.

The Operating Thetan is said to be able to control matter, energy, space, and time (Scientilogy Catichism pg 213,215, What is Scientology pg556).  Man that sounds great doesn't it? How do we get to become OT (Operating Thetan), you can reach OT (supposedly) through Hubbard's expensive coarses. This is the exact same lie the devil told eve in the garden of Eden. He told her to eat the fruit and they would become as gods Gen 3:4-5).

These coarses you pay a ton of cash for otherwise known as audits, supposedly remove these things called engrams (negative experiences that occurred in past lives) though the use of a thing called an E- meter. Once that is done you become what's known as clear, after you become "clear" you learn that your inhabited with clusters of body thetans which cost around $200,000 to have cast off. Jesus never charged money to cast devils outta people, so why does Hubbard charge so much to have these make-believe alien spirits cast out of people? It's quite simple, there is no nice way to put it. Ron Hubbard is a false prophet who lies to get peoples money (2 Pet 2:1-3, 1 Tim 6:10).

In the "phoenix lectures pg 12" we learn that he consulted with pagan religions in order to develop his own. It comes as no surprise that he teaches that Judgment day is just superstition (pp28-31). This religion also threatens it's members that if they learn about "OT3" before they paid for it they would catch pneumonia and die (the american lawyer march 96 pg 70). Hubbard taught that the goal of Scientology was to reach the I AM state, and  he ridiculed the idea that God punishes sin "Scientology 8-8008 pp 72-3", they also teach that hell is a myth "PAB # 130 15 Feb 1958".

Final Thoughts: While yes it's a free country, and I believe people do have a right to choose what they want to believe in, may I suggest not following a religion where it's founder previously made a living making up fairy tales to entertain people.
