For today's article I am writing about the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah which for the 1st time in modern history have been located. The evidences that these sites were ancient cities include man made formations such as ziggurats, sphinxes, windows, arched doorways, walls, etc.
(update: I recently came across an article that casts doubt on the claims of Ron Wyatt discoveries, of which were the 98% sulfur balls of Sodom. Therefore I've decided to caution the reader and urge you to further do research on this topic on your own as this post that I've once created may not be the best or even a good piece of evidence for the validity of scripture; nevertheless I will leave this post up as a reminder to the reader that we should remember the verse Proverbs 14:15).
So what evidence was found inside the cities that suggest that these were indeed the places mentioned in the book of Genesis? Well for one there was found round balls of brimstone which contained 98% sulfur, they were embedded in an ashen area in close proximity to the dead sea. All of the cities did contain evidence of brimstone, it is also the only place on earth where you can find such a high percentage of sulfur in a round ball.
We know that the brimstone found in Sodom and Gomorrah wasn't caused by geothermal activity on the count of geothermal sulfur nodules contain just 40% pure sulfur and are the rhombic kind. This specific kind of ash was made up of calcium sulfate and calcium carbonate, these are the by products of the limestone block buildings burning with sulfur. The cities are almost entirely turned into white ash and can even be seen in satellite photo's.
They also found sulfur crystals, burned gold and burned bones, jars, a spear head, and tile. There's also a rock specimen that showed signs of being melted on the top part, while the lower part was bubbling and pooled into a solid. The high burning temps created what seems to be a multi-shaded layering of ash that formed by thermal ionization, which did create a swirling effect.
In conclusion we see that even today there remains evidence of God's judgment on sin and of the truth found in scripture.
