Sanctification Definition (google search)- the action or process of being freed from sin or purified.
"the process of sanctification takes deliberate action on our part"
While Justification is a one time event that takes place at conversion, sanctification is a lifelong process of growing in holiness.
Sanctification involves the Holy Spirit transforming us to become more like Christ by purging you of sin and iniquity and conforming you to the law of Christ (Gal 4:19, 2 Thes 2:13, 1 Pet 1:2, Gal 6:2).
On the other hand there are those that use God's grace as an excuse to sin. Here is some scripture refuting that notion.
Rom_6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
Jud_1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Rom_6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? see also Rom 13:8-10, Ezek 33:1-20, Ecc 7:16-17.
