Today I feel like briefly going over a few unscriptural teachings of the poorly named Christian Science, and include bible verses to refute them. I call it poorly named because it ain't christian and in ain't science.
Not to be confused with creation science which is true science which agrees with the bible. This cult was founded in 1879 by Mary Baker Eddy in Mass. USA. There is supposedly 150 to 400 thousand adherents worldwide. The members of which read Mary's book titled "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (Mat 24:5).
Just like other professing Christian cults such as Jw's and 7 Day Adventist) they deny the trinity as well as Jesus' Divinity (Joh 10:30, Heb 1:8). Some other disturbing things I have learned from this religion is that they refer to God as Father-Mother (Mat 28:19). They also Dangerously blaspheme the Holy Spirit by saying He is equivalent with the teaching of christian science (Mar 3:29).
Another strange doctrine you would pick up from this bizarre cult is that matter doesn't exist and that people can heal themselves spiritually by realizing illness doesn't exist. They also teach that Heaven and hell are states of mind (Joh 14:2-3).
In conclusion stay away from this cult with the exception of perhaps witnessing and giving them the true gospel.
