The theory of Evolution proposes that we came from a simple cell and over a vast period of time we gradually evolved from primitive into increasingly more complex organisms. Today we are going to look at some evidence that shows the opposite of upwards and on wards evolution, if you hold to the whole bigger is better philosophy.
There have been numerous fossils of creatures that lived in the past that grew to sizes we just don't see today what follows are just a few examples. We have Dragon flies with a three foot wingspan, beetles the size of a baseball mitt, and one hundred foot conifers that dwarf the ones we have today. Remains of a rat has been found that was roughly the size of a car and weighed about a ton.
Other examples of creatures that grew to gargantuan sizes include a guinea pig that grew to the size of a modern rhino, a "prehistoric" rhino as big as a 2 story building, and bones of penguins that grew to 5 or 6 feet tall. Fossils of toads have been found that weighed ten pounds apiece, 13 ft tall camels, bear-sized dogs, and an 8 ft platypus all prove that creatures grew larger in the past. Another example of a creature that grew larger than life is a teratorn bird with a 25 ft wingspan found in the Natural History Museum, LA.
Even more examples include a turtle skeleton 11 ft long by 15 ft wide located at Yale's Peabody museum, an inch long fossilized flea that has been found in china, as well as a 6 ft long armadillo, and of coarse we have saber tooth tigers that grew larger than any modern tiger.
So in conclusion we see that there have been changes in the earth's atmosphere that has prevented animals from reaching the gargantuan sizes we see in the fossil record! This seems to me to be more evidence that supports the 2nd law of thermodynamics which states that things are getting worse over time not better (Heb 1:11).That things are not evolving from simple to complex but are breaking down, and that the bible is right again when it tells of there being giants in the earth in those days (Gen 6:4).
