Well hello again my readers, for this article I'm going to be taking a rather brief look at the Clear word bible in order to warn my readers to steer Clear of this particular work (pun intended). But first a little information on the clear word. It is classified as a paraphrase and has copyrights in 1994, 2000, 2003, and 2004. It was first publish in 1994. The Following are a few verses the 7th day Adventist changed in order to make the bible fit into their theology. I will post KJV in Blue and Clear word in Red.
1. Food Law
7th day Adventist promote vegetarianism and the eating of only the clean animals mentioned in the old testament Torah.
Gen 9:3 Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things. 7th day Adventist promote vegetarianism and the eating of only the clean animals mentioned in the old testament Torah.
"Many of these animals will provide food for you, and from now on, you may eat meat as well as vegetables." Gen. 9:3, TCW
1Ti 4:3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
1Ti 4:4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
1Ti 4:5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
2. Keeping Sabbath for salvation.
The following bible passage makes it clear that 7 day Adventist beleive you must keep the sabbath to be saved which if that was the case virtually nobody including the 7 day Adventist would be saved because I doubt they avoid starting their car (lighting a fire) Exo 35:3, or turning on a light (making your servant/power plant employees work) Deut 5:14, and Cook / eat out (Exo 16:23). They Go to "Church" on the Sabbath don't they, what about (Exo 16:29-30)?
Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Col 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
"Don't let anyone tell you that you have to go through certain rituals, eat certain foods, keep certain feasts, or observe extra Sabbaths to be saved. All these things pointed forward to Jesus. So now they're meaningless." Col. 2:16-17, Easy English and Clear Word for Kids:
3. The doctrine of Annihilation
Seven day Adventist do not believe in the eternal punishment of the wicked and thus it comes at no surprise that their bible reflects their heretical beliefs.
Seven day Adventist do not believe in the eternal punishment of the wicked and thus it comes at no surprise that their bible reflects their heretical beliefs.
Isa 66:24 And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.
Mat 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
"I have no choice but to end your lives, because in my kingdom everyone cares about everyone else.'"
Matt. 25:46, TCW:
But this was not the end of His work for that day. Next He said to His Son, "Now let us make beings who look like us and can reflect our thinking and our personality. Let's give them the responsibility of ruling over and caring for the fish, the birds and the animals which we created." So they created two human beings, a male and a female, equal but with different functions, to reflect the unity of the Godhead.
4. About the Godhead.
Like the Jehovah witnesses 7 day Adventist are non Trinitarian in their views of God and believe Jesus is a created being.

Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Gen 1:26-7 TCW
Joh 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
Jesus answered, "Because I existed before Abraham was born." Joh 8:58 TCW
What happened to Jesus' claim to divinity? The I AM

This verse seems anti-trinitarian as it only mentions 2 persons of the Godhead.
Joh 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
Jesus answered, "Because I existed before Abraham was born." Joh 8:58 TCW
What happened to Jesus' claim to divinity? The I AM
Joh 20:28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
Thomas' words in the original The Clear Word Bible read, "Lord, you're alive! They were right! I believe! You are the Son of God." Joh 20:28 TCW
Their original bible completely removes the fact that Thomas called Jesus God.
Jud 1:9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
In contrast to these ungodly men is the Lord Jesus, also called Michael the Archangel, for He is over the entire angelic host. When He was challenged by Satan about His intentions to resurrect Moses, He didn't come at Satan with a blistering attack, nor did He condemn him with mockery. He simply said, "God rebuke you for claiming Moses' body." Jud 1:9 TCW
Because they had to fit that in the bible somewhere! They keep claiming Jesus is Michael the Archangel yet the bible doesn't say that anywhere in scripture.
Due to the fact that this is a very loose paraphrase, (if it can even be listed as such), the author of this book adds many words that you will not find in the Hebrew/Greek manuscripts. What follows are just two examples of adding to the text that I got from the last link I provide near the end of my article, I highly encourage my readers to check it out. Insertions to the text are in bold as well as highlighted.
Mar 14:23 And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of it.
Mar 14:24 And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.
“Then He took the cup of unfermented wine, gave thanks and passed it to the disciples to drink from, which they each did. Jesus said, “The pure juice which you just drank represents my blood that I will shed for the sins of the world. This will fulfill the covenant my Father and I made from the beginning.” Mark 14:23 -24 TCW
I could definitely see how this change could be used to support the belief that drinking any alcohol would be sin.
Gen 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
“As Eve watched the serpent eat the delicious fruit, she suddenly felt a strong urge to taste it too. She reached out and touched the fruit and nothing happened. Then she picked it, took a bite and instantly felt a surge of energy. Excited, she took more fruit and ran to find her husband. When Adam saw her, he sensed what she had done. But in the blush of her excitement, she looked more beautiful than ever. He couldn’t bear the thought of living without her, so he took the fruit and ate it also.” Genesis 3:6 TCW
There are at least a couple assumptions listed in the text. Did Eve feel a surge of energy? Was Adam really not with her when she ate the fruit?
So in Conclusion although Adventists may claim this is just a paraphrase and not a study bible if they choose to believe the teachings of this book over the actual bible then they are really treating it as their bible.
