Today I will be covering briefly a little known religion call the Church of the Universe.
The church of the universe was founded by a man names Walter Tucker in the late 1960's. The churches inception began on Aug 9 1969. They are Canada's foremost advocate for the legalization of cannabis for the purpose of religion. I have decided to cover just three of their beliefs that are contrary to Scripture.
Belief number one, the use of Marijuana as a sacrament. The problem I find with this belief is that in several places in the New Testament there are passages that tell us we need to be sober. While I have never personally have smoked weed before, one has to ask themeselves if they smoke weed. Am I sober minded when I am partaking of this drug.

The next problem that I find in this cult is that it believes that nudism is okay. This belief is relatively easy to debunk considering that God clothed Adam and Eve in the Garden after they sinned, Why would He do so if he wanted them to remain naked? In the New Testament we find a man who was possessed with devils going around in the nude, and finally we are Instructed in the book of 1 Timothy to dress Modestly. (Gen 3:21, Luk 8:27, 1Ti 2:9)
The Last belief I find Problematic is that they think Everything and Everyone is God. This is similar to the Hindu religion that worships the creation as creator, this is not the God of the bible. It is impossible to seek the True God's will when you believe yourself to be God, as well as that chair over there to be God, and that bug on the ceiling to be God, and on and on it goes.

Thus concludes this post on yet another strange religion.
