Let's discuss what the bible teaches about God, to be more specific the tri-une nature of the Godhead. I will address the fact of Jesus' divinity and the person hood/divinity of the Holy Spirit in a separate post but for now lets explain what the trinity is and go over key scriptures that support this Important doctrine of scripture.
The trinity can be defined as the belief in one God who is expressed in three distinct persons, so who are these three persons that make up the one God? The is the Father, and then there is the Son (also know as Jesus), and finally you have the Holy Spirit.
Many so-called Christians reject this bible doctrine including the 7 Seventh Day Adventists, Jehovah's witness, and adherents to Christian science. I understand that the concept of 3 separate beings all being the one same God can be a difficult concept to grasp but scripture tells us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and not to lean on our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). There are some examples of a trinity in nature such as H20, it can be a liquid, solid, or gas. Our body is another great example, it consist of flesh, soul, and spirit.
So what passages support this amazing truth? Well even in the beginning we have God saying let us make man in our Image (Gen 1:26). In 2 Samuel 23:2-3 we have God, The Spirit of the Lord, and the Rock of Israel (Christ, see 1Cor 10:4) all mentioned. Proverbs 30:4 is another hint at two members that make up the Godhead. In Isa 48:16 is another clear reference to the trinity in the old testament. We see that all 3 members of the Godhead were present at Jesus baptism (Mat 3:16-17, Luk 3:22). All 3 members of the trinity are accounted for when baptizing people (Matt 28:19). It was revealed to Simeon by the Holy Ghost that he wouldn't die until he had seen the Lord's Christ (Luk 2:26). We also find out in the very first verse of the Gospel of John that God is made up of at least 2 persons (Joh 1:1, 1:14).
We also know that God Anointed Jesus with the Holy Ghost (Act 10:38). Paul concludes his second Letter to the Corinthians by mentioning the three (2 Cor 13:14). If you compare (Gal 4:6) with other bible verses such as (Rom 8:9, 1 Cor 3:9, 1 Cor 6:19) you can see how that your body is the temple of God, Son/Christ, and the Holy Spirit. We also see that Jesus was raised from the dead by all three members of the Godhead (Joh 2:19-22, Gal 1:1, 1Pet 3:18).
We see that the Author of Hebrews mentions all three members when referring to the Crucifixion.
Heb_9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
And in 1 John 5:7 we have three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. If someone want to say that 1 Joh 5:7 was not originally in the text then I will just point to the fact that the same john wroth the gospel of john and there he has 3 trinity verses in three consecutive chapters John 14:26, John 15:26, John 16:15.
So far I 've been trying to list verses that have all three members in one verse, but here are two verses seperated by a comma so I'll include this as well.
Jud 1:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
Jud 1:21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
In Conclusion we as believers in the word of God can be fully assured that the doctrine of the trinity is correct, even though the word itself doesn't appear in scripture.
Bonus Passages:
In these verses we see intervals of 3 when referencing God; such as God of Abraham, God of Isaac, and God of Jacob (Mark 12:26), that the God head is not like unto Gold, Silver, or Stone (Acts 17:29), " the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;" (Colossians 2:2), See also Eph. 2:18,22

Colossians 2:2 seems like a good verse to defend the Trinity, to me. If Jesus is not God, then how could He rightly claim to be Lord over the Sabbath (Matthew 12:6-8)? How could He tell His Jewish audience that He was greater than the temple? Why would the Pharisees conspire against Christ, if what He had affirmed about Himself did not imply that He was divine (Matthew 12:14)? If the Lord Jesus Christ is only a created being, and He is the wisdom and power of God (1 Corinthians 1:24), then would that also mean that God had no wisdom and power prior to creating His Son (which is absurd in the highest degree)? Thanks for all your labor in the Lord, bro.
