Why you shouldn't read the NIV

Can You Find Which bible Verses these pictures are referring to?

Well, I hope everyone is having a good day. For today's post we are going to be examining the NIV bible and comparing it to the KJV to see how they line up. I will only be Adding complete kjv verses to the NIV passages were i list that they changed something, not to the ones were I just mention that they removed or omitted words/verses. This way hopefully my article won't be too long.

Gen 7:1  And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.
Gen 7:1 "...Go into the ark..."
Where was God when He instructed Moses to Enter the Ark? Was he in the ark as the KJV implies or outside the Ark as this translation implies.

Gen 32:32  Therefore the children of Israel eat not of the sinew which shrank, which is upon the hollow of the thigh, unto this day: because he touched the hollow of Jacob's thigh in the sinew that shrank.
Gen 32:25 changes thigh to "...hip..."
Different part of the body.

Gen 38:9  And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother's wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother.
38:9 changes seed or it to "...semen..."
Not very kid friendly in my opinion.

Exo 6:3  And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.
Exodus 6:3 Replaces JEHOVAH with "...the LORD..."
(this makes God a liar, because Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob did indeed call him Lord in Gen 18:27, Gen 27:20). If this passage is correct then the rest of the bible can't be trusted.

Jdg 19:22  Now as they were making their hearts merry, behold, the men of the city, certain sons of Belial, beset the house round about, and beat at the door, and spake to the master of the house, the old man, saying, Bring forth the man that came into thine house, that we may know him.
Jdg 19:22 "...Bring out the man... so we can have sex...."
I like the KJV of "know" that way you don't have to explain the birds and the bees to your 5 year old.

1Sa 13:1  Saul reigned one year; and when he had reigned two years over Israel,
1 Sam 13:1 "...thirty years old..."
Various ages and meaning depending on the Translation, the KJV isn't talking about how old he was when he began to reign in this passage.

Isa 14:12  How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
Isa 14:12 Changes Lucifer with "...morning star..."
(see 2 Pe 1:19, Rev 22:16)
This Passage removes the only time Lucifer is mentioned in scripture and blasphemly puts Jesus' name in this condemning passage of scripture. We know this passage is refering to the devil because Pride was his condemnation 1 Tim 3:6. Another title for the devil is Leviathan who is described as having multiple heads, a sea serpent and being a king over all the children of pride. (Job 41:34, Psa 74:14, Isa 27:1, Rev 12:3,:9)

Dan 3:25  He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.
Dan 3:25 Changes Son of God to "...a son of the gods."
Removes a reference to Jesus Christ.

Mic 5:2  But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
Mic 5:2 changes everlasting to "...Ancient times."
(Attacks Christ's Divinity)

Matt 1:25 removes firstborn
To Help the Catholic doctrine that Mary never had kids after Jesus.

Matt 5:22 removes without a cause
Makes Jesus a sinner (Mar 3:5)

Matt 5:44 omits do good to them that hate you

Matt 9:13 removes to repentance.

Mar 1:2  As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
Mar 1:2 Changes prophets to "...Isaiah..."
(it is written also in Malachi 3 not just Isa. 40)

Mar 10:21 Removed take up the cross

Mar 10:24 removes for them that trust in riches

Luk 2:33  And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.
Luk 2:33 changes Joseph with "...father..."
Joseph wasn't Jesus actual Father, it was God.

Luk3:14 omits Do violence to no man

Luk 4:4 removes but by every word of God
Undermines the necessity to have ALL of Gods word Today.

Joh 6:47 removes on me
This passage says everyone will be saved, because everyone believes in Something whether is Allah, Buddha, or even the big bang. You must believe on Jesus to be saved.

Joh 19:29  Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.
Joh 19:29 "...wine vinegar..." contradicts Matthew 26:29
Again if Jesus lied and drunk of the fruit of the vine on the cross then his sacrifice is nothing worth!

Act 3:13  The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.
Act 3:26  Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.
Act 3:13,26 changes Son/child to "servant"

Rom 8:1 removed who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

13:9 omits Thou shalt not bear false witness

1 Cor 6:9 removes effeminate

1Co 11:29  For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
11:29 takes out unworthily and switches damnation to "...judgment..."

2 Cor 5:18 Removes by Jesus Christ
Gal 4:7 removed through Christ

Gal 5:19  Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
Gal 5:20  Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Gal 5:21  Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Gal 5:19-21 calls "jealousy" an "...acts of the flesh..."
Jealousy itself is not a sin, God is a Jealous God and his name is Jealous as well see (Exo 34:14). You can quote me on this "If a husband isn't Jealous when he knows his wife is having an affair then he doesn't love her, it just shows he doesn't care for her."

Eph 3:9 leaves out by Jesus Christ:

Eph 4:6 removes you
So God is in Lost people too? I thought you get the Holy Ghost when you get saved, according to this translation lost people have the Holy Ghost too.

Eph 5:30 omits of his flesh, and of his bones.

Php 4:13  I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Phili 4:13 changes Christ to "...him..."
"him"...him Who? the Pope...Hulk Hogan...the Slim Jim Guy?

Colo 1: 14 omits through his blood

Col 2:18  Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
Colo 2:18 replaces not seen with "has seen"
That means the opposite!!

1Ti 3:16  And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
1 3:16 change God to "He"
Another attack on the deity of Christ.

1 Tim 6:5 removed from such withdraw thyself.
It's very serious thing to remove a NT command from scripture.

2Ti 2:15  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2 Tim 2:15 changes study to "Do your best to present yourself..."
Sure... Get rid of one of the passages that commands us to Study the word of God.

2 Tim 3:17 takes out perfect
Is this where people say "well nobodies perfect" comes from?..
The bible does teach that we can be perfect however the bible's definition of perfect seems to be a little different than the worlds definition. See my Topic P for verses on Perfect.

Tit 3:10  A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;
Titus 3:10 heretick changed to "divisive"
A person who causes disunity isn't necessarily the same as a man who teaches things that are contrary to scripture aka lies.
Example: Just because I don't go and worship with Catholics that makes me divisive however it doesn't make me a heretic.
Jesus brought division, are we to separate from him? (Luk 12:51).

Hebrews 4:12 changes powerful to "...active..."
A little "water-down" don't you think?

1 Peter 1:22 takes out pure
2 Peter 1:21 takes out holy
1 Joh 5:7 removes the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost:
Removed in most modern verses despite strong evidence of it being in there.

Revelation 1:11 Removes I am Alpha and Omega
Revelation 21:24 omit of them which are saved
Supports Teaching of Universalism which teaches all will eventually be saved.

Passages to Look out for in newer bibles.

Worship changes to "knelt", "knelling"  (Matt. 8:2, 9:18, 15:25, 20:20)
Attack on Christ Divinity

Switches sodomite with  "shrine prostitute", "shrine prostitutes"  (Deut 23:17,1 King 14:24, 15:12, 22:46, 2 King 23:7)
Supports gay agenda since Sodomites means homosexual but prostitute isn't necessarily gay.

Changes hell to "grave" or "depths" or "death" or "realm of the dead" (2 Samuel 22:6, Job 11:8, Psalms 9:17, 16:10, 18:5, 55:15, 86:13, 116:3, 139:8, Proverbs 5:5, 7:27, 9:18, 15:24, 23:14, 27:20, Isaiah 5:14, 14:9,15, 57:9, Ezekiel 31:16,17, 32:21,27, Amos 9:2 Jonah 2:2,  Acts 2:27,31
Attack on Punishment after death
