Questionable changes in the Revised Standard Version (updated)

Well hello again my dear readers. Today I am rereleasing my article on The RSV EXPOSED.
I wanted to make sure I am within copyright guidelines. The RSV was publish in 1952, and as far as I know it contains all 66 books of scripture. It is a word for word translation.   The RSV quotes will be in red, kjv in blue and my comments in black, Ok lets begin.

Gen 1:5  And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
Genesis 1:5 "...one day." RSV
Gen 1:8  And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
...a second day." RSV
By changing the first day to one day this leaves room for proponants of the gap theory to insert their idea that their was a separate creation before the first week of Genesis.

Gen 9:20  And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard:
Genesis 9:20 "...Noah was the first tiller of the soil..." RSV
(What about Cain, Gen 4:12)

Exo 21:22  If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.
Exodus 21:22 changes fruit depart from her to "...miscarriage..." RSV
I personally thought that fruit depart from her meant that the baby was delivered / premature birth, whereas a miscarriage always means the baby died. If my premise is true then that means a life inside the womb is = to someone already born.

Judges 15:19 removed ...that was in the jaw...

2Sa 5:21  And there they left their images, and David and his men burned them.
2 Samuel 5:21 "...carried them away." RSV
This makes it seem like David kept the idols, thus committing idolatry.  (1chro 14:12)

2Sa 24:13  So Gad came to David, and told him, and said unto him, Shall seven years of famine come unto thee in thy land? or wilt thou flee three months before thine enemies, while they pursue thee? or that there be three days' pestilence in thy land? now advise, and see what answer I shall return to him that sent me.
2 Sam 24:13 "... three years..." RSV
My guess is because they didn't know that that supposed bible contradiction was actually cleared up quite easily.

1Ki 10:8  Happy are thy men, happy are these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and that hear thy wisdom.
1 Kings 10:8 changed men to "...wives..." RSV

2Ki 2:23  And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head.
2 Kings 2:23 little children changed to "...small boys..."RSV

Job 8:13  So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite's hope shall perish:
Job 13:16  He also shall be my salvation: for an hypocrite shall not come before him.
Job 8:13,13:16 hypocrite's/hypocrite changed to "...godless..." RSV

Job 9:15  Whom, though I were righteous, yet would I not answer, but I would make supplication to my judge.
Job 9:15 "...accuser."RSV
(Satan is the accuser God is the Judge see Rev 12:10)

Job 21:13  They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave.
Job 21:13 "....in peace they go down..."RSV
 (see Isaiah 57:21)

Pro 6:30  Men do not despise a thief, if he steal to satisfy his soul when he is hungry;
Proverbs 6:30 "...Do not men despise...?"RSV
Opposite meaning.

Pro 14:30  A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.
Pro 14:30 "...passion makes...bones..." RSV
It's envy that you God to look out for, not passion (Act 1:3).

Ecc 5:7  For in the multitude of dreams and many words there are also divers vanities: but fear thou God.
Ecclesiastes 5:7 "...but do you fear God." RSV
(Changes a command to a question also shouldn't there be a question mark?)

Son 3:10  He made the pillars thereof of silver, the bottom thereof of gold, the covering of it of purple, the midst thereof being paved with love, for the daughters of Jerusalem.
Song of Solomon 3:10 "...by the daughters..."RSV

Nahum 1:10 removed and while they are drunken as drunkards
Habakkuk 2:4 removed which is lifted up

Mar 8:33  But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.
Mark 8:33 "...Satan...on the side of...men."RSV
This change in meaning of the text makes it seem like Satan has men's best interest in mind.

Mar 8:36  For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
Mar 8:37  Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Mar 8:36-37 changes soul to "...life?"RSV

Rom 15:17  I have therefore whereof I may glory through Jesus Christ in those things which pertain to God.
Romans 15:17 "...proud of my work for God."RSV

1Co 11:15  But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.
1 Cor 11:15 glory changed to "...pride..." RSV
Pride is sin.

1Co 11:16  But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.
1 Cor 11:16 "...we recognize no other practice..." RSV
(opposite meaning)

1Co 13:4  Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
1 Cor 13:4 "..love is not jealous..."RSV
(God is love and he is Jealous, a husband who isn't jealous if his wife cheats on him doesn't love her.)

Colossians 3:6 removes on the children of disobedience:

So to sum up  the RSV supports the notion of pride in some sense, omits some portions of scripture, has wording in Genesis 1 that can be interpreted to support the Gap theory, says "..love is not jealous..."RSV, and even has verses the mean the exact opposite of the KJV. I think I will stick with the KJV, thanks.
